Agenda

  • “Core to Production” seminar – October 2006

 

This meeting was held at ConocoPhillips at Tananger since we do not have a replacement for Espen Bråstein from the NPD yet.

 

 

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the program for the planned seminar on structural core logging in October. Action points from the previous meeting were reviewed:

 

  • Finalize invoices from the field trip (Espen)  - Complete
  • Assemble pictures from the Corinth field trip (Erling) – on a CD
  • Res.Char seminar – cooperation ? (Erling) – promote each others seminars
  • Presentation of Statoil Late-life (Alastair) – OK, Rob Knipe will cover
  • Contribution from Norsk Hydro (Chris) – Roald Færseth will present Njord
  • Fractured carbonates example (Claudia) – in progress
  • Valhall presentation (Erling will contact Grim) – not confirmed
  • Ekofisk/Eldfisk presentation (Erling) - confirmed
  • Rockfield geomechanics presentation (Alastair) – OK, Rob Knipe

·         Schlumberger presentation (Chris) – Image logs and remote sensing tech.

 

 

 

 

          “Structural Geology – core to production”

 

The core presentations will be divided between the fault dominated and the fracture dominated systems because of the different controlling factors and impact on production. A short introduction to each of the two systems will focus on the principles of structural logging of cores and recognizing structural features like faults and fractures.
