1&2 Introduction and Minutes from last meeting
It is still difficult to arrange and meet at pre-arrange times. The members meeting at the 28’th was not meeting in the last meeting and vice verse. However I will continue sending out the preferred meeting times as before and make adjustments accordingly if needed. Gro could only stay for a short while, we therefore started with a discussion about the practical issues around the coming shale seminar and timing of the event. The minutes were not sent out prior to the meeting, but read out in the meeting.
3. Presentation of the Topic of the day
The presentation was given by Kjell Buer: The use of integrated workflows for well-delivery and model updates on Valhall.
The presentation was focused on problems related to integration and alignment of objectives to ensure that the right product or model is delivered that will make it possible to make the right decisions.
INTEGRATION in four different areas:
PEOPLE INTEGRATION. Facilitate communication between groups with technical and administrative backgrounds
PROJECT INTEGRATION. To be able to maintain and update similar models and decision tools integrated
workflow processes should be implemented.
DATA INTEGRATION. Utilization of the full range of dynamic and static data to their full extent and still
understand their limitations.
MODEL AND SOFWARE INTEGRATION. Different resolutions, grid algorithms, data sources and objectives.
Workflows and tools developed for the two main Valhall projects were presented.
4. Responsibilities/activities in connection with the Shale seminar
The shale seminar will be two days 9 -10’th (Wednesday & Thursday) April
Claus would like to participate in the main arrangement committee together with Robert Trice
The following will be helping out:
Jean-Marc would like to participate
Trond Kistensen – DNO
Kjell Buer/Trond Kristiansen BP
Trond Høye – Norsk Hydro stated their interest and will participate with
1-2 persons
What about Statoil, contact person??
We would like to present some typical shale-mudstone cores from the north-sea fields: Can you Anke take the responsibility for this for the Shale seminar?
Progress meetings for the shale seminar should be kept
outside the regular SING meetings!!
WE need sponsors for the seminar dinner! (usually two companies).
Send programs etc to Gro Galta, NPD.
5. Proposals/seminars to come!
We had a proposal from Kjell Sigve Lervik:
Vi hadde møte i FORCE SING Sed/Strat forrige torsdag og didkuterte aktiviteter neste år. Vi kommer til å kjøre noen workshops og feltturer.
Det var også snakk om å evt arrangere en workshop sammen med dere om upscaling (som diskutert i fjor). Hvis dette er interresant, hører vi gjerne fra dere.
Kjell_Sigve Lervik Chairman SING Sed/Strat
We discussed this in the meeting. We all agreed that this was a very good topic and within the main scope of the SING group on Reservoir characterization. In an upscaling seminar we should be the main scooping group.
It was decided that we should arrange a two day seminar (probably third quarter, probably September-october 2003). The focus should be on upscaling and that one of the groups we would like to cooperate with would be the sedimentology group. It is also obvious that the topic is quite wide and that we need to keep the focus or upscaling for reservoir characterization purposes.
