Present were representatives from NH, Conoco-Phillips, BP, NPD, Shell,  Phillips. (DNO, Statoil, RWEDEA and Total was not present).

It has been a long time since we had the last meeting. This meeting should be regarded as a meeting aimed at a restart of the SING Reservoir characterization group. All seemed to be in favor of continue to do the meetings.

1.      General information about FORCE activity was given by Arild Haugen (NPD).

Tina Olsen gave some information on the activities of the SING sedimentary group. They will probably aim for  1-3 workshops every year as an aim.

2003: AINSA – fieldtrip in September

Early December workshop seminar in cooperation with our group

2004:   a) Sandstone injection – February-march,

            b) Shallow marine – Brent – Recent coastline fieldtrip Germany

            c) Fieldtrip – Southafrica Karoo – seminar  October (20-25000 NOK)

            d) Permian-Devonian (Oslo graben) possible but not set.

2.      What did we learn from the Shale seminar?

-     Check the timing of the speakers.

-     Cores – Would aave been useful to have more time to prepare the Core viewing/core quality assessment. Different cores should be in different viewing rooms. The viewing session was good and spured some interesting discussions.

-     Preparation time: To book the speakers took some time.

-     The organisation was easy, thanks to NPD/Force and did not take to much time. However we could probably use a little more time the next time!

-     Some very good feedback during and after the seminar indicated that shale seminar was something that was needed and should probably be followed by other related themes!

3.      What do we want to do next, Cooperation with the sed.group etc.?

All were in favor of doing arranging a joint seminar with the sed. Group. We tossed ideas back and forth for a while and arrived at UPSCALING as the most like theme and the most likely time to be early December?. We should aim at having a 2 day seminar, where core and base descriptions and foundation should be the focus of the first day and process/products/cases/what is Key in a dynamic model should be the aim of the second day.  Our group could be responsible for the second day, while the sed. Group could be responsible for the first day?

We will aim for having a draft agenda for the seminar by the end of this month. We will meet with the Sed. Group probably september 29’th? We should have our proposal ready by that date and have our own meeting as planned the 23’rd. Please give input!

4.      Input to FORCE presentation/board meeting.

      We need to put together a short presentation of the main activities of our SING group for the Board.  I will be responsible for sending out a possible PPT presentation by end next week for comments!

5.   Next meeting (23’rd September) will focus on the agenda for the December UPCALING seminar. We will also look at the NPD WEBSITE.
