2.  Status yearly seminar.

Claus is leading the work on this seminar and everything is on schedule. The preliminary program is enclosed. Ragnar wil be asked to get Hydro to contribute with presentations (Kristian).

3.  Contact with Universities and institutions.

The following Universities and institutions will be followed up by the FresCo committee:

University of Oslo

•University of Bergen

•University of Trondheim

•University of Tromsø

•NORSAR

•IFE

•SINTEF

•Rogaland Research

•CMI

•NGI

•Norsk Regnesentral

•HiS

The Centers of Excellence should be prioritized. The Force board also suggested (13.3.03) that some time should be spent  on the IT industry/research.

4.  Norsk Forskningsråd (NFR) projects

Arild and Kristian were invited to NFR in order to go through those projects that did not receive enough support to get NFR funding. NFR has very limited funds such that there are still interesting projects that could be relevant for Force. 5-6 projects were selected and sent into the Force project system.

5.  Mapping and publishing of public research activities within Subsurface technology

The Fresco committee will try to map subsurface research activities in Norway by monitoring the following  bodies:

       Universities/Institutions (see above)

       Oil Companies

Contractors (Schlumberger, PGS, Roxar, Haliburton, Baker, Aker Kværner, Kongsberg, ABB etc)

       Consortia

     National

International (Stanford, HARC, CSM, DELFT, IFP?, UK??)

Further  action is to assosiate  contact person(s) with all mapped events. These should also be published (continuously) on the Force web which have to be updated at regular intervals and with a yearly revision. The mapping will have to be done by the FResCo committee, and realising that all committeee members are very busy it is limited how thorough this mapping can be done. Univerities and Institutions will be covered by the secretariate and each representative could at least see what info is available internaly in their own company. We have too limited resources to be very active towards the contractors, but a list of Consortia should be possible to make either by feedback from the committee members and the contact with Univ/Inst.

It is also important that we keep ourselves aware of subsurface research activities in other research coordinating bodies such as OG21, KONKRAFT, OLF, TBL, Demo2000, ITF, etc.

The purpose of such a mapping process is to try to get an overview of what is going on in Norway of subsurface research and to build the Network.

6.  Status incoming Project Proposals (PP)

Arild presented all projects and we eliminated some projects that are not relevant anymore. There was also assigned a responsible technical sub-committee to each project. The revised list is available on the web: Project Proposals.

7.  Suggested ”Flow” for projects in Force

The following flow was approved: The yearly seminar  held in April-May will be a kind of kick-off for ideas etc such that projects can be submitted to Force within June 15th. This date matches NFR deadlines also. All proposals will be logged on the web and sent to the relevant technical committees. Deadline for responding will be at year end. It will be stressed that the groups reports their opinion back to FresCo. Non-interesting projects can then be removed from the Force system with a formal message back to the project proposer. Projects with a positive interest will then either have to be followed up by the group or group members or from FresCO.
