Venue:Norwegian Petroleum Directorate
Stavanger, May 26 and 27, 2003
The Structural Geology group of FORCE is pleased to announce a Structural Geomodeling Seminar in Stavanger on May 26 and 27.
Background:
A number of software packages are available on the market to help solve most of
the tasks structural geologists are challenged with, but the main limitations in
our workflow lie in the integration between the
different packages,
the inability of the
packages to address some key risks and the time it takes to complete the task.
The SG group would like to use this opportunity to identify gaps in structural
modeling tasks that are presently not covered by vendors.
The seminar:
The seminar will be split up in two sessions, where day one will focus on
exploration and day two on production related topics. Each participating vendor
company will get 20 minutes to present their workflow to resolve the tasks.
After each presentation 10 minutes will be set aside for questions and feedback.
We hope to initiate a discussion of what is missing, problems we may have with
their software, and what we would like to see in near future releases.
The software vendors will be challenged on the following key structural geology tasks:

It
will also be possible to perform software demonstrations and poster
presentations.
