FORCE workshop and field trip “Beach barrier systems” August 31st - September 3rd
FORCE (Forum for Reservoir Characterisation, Reservoir Engineering and Exploration Technology Co-operation) invites you to participate in a combined workshop and field trip “Beach barrier systems”.
The FORCE Special Interest Network Group in Sedimentology & Stratigraphy will organise a workshop on this topic at the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate's offices in Stavanger (Prof. Olav Hanssensvei 10, Ullandhaug). The workshop consists of 1 day lecture, 1 day core view session (August 31st and September 1st) and a field trip to Wadden Zee and Texel Island, September 2nd – 3rd. It is possible to only attend the workshop. The seminar participants are invited to a seminare dinner at “The Red Seahouse” on the evening of 31. August. Please tick of at the registration form if you wish to attend this dinner.
The aim of the seminar is to focus on linear coastlines with emphasize on beach barrier and associated deposits (see attached flyer and agenda for more details).

Attendance and cost:

Attendance will be limited to 25 persons on the field trip, and to 50 persons on
the seminar, core session. Cost estimate approximates NOK 3.000,- (workshop
only) and NOK
11.000,- (workshop and fieldtrip) respectively.
Cost covers lectures, flight tickets, hotels in Netherland, rental cars and
field guiding. Booking is done by the FORCE Secretariat.
The participants will be billed by NPD. Hotel in Stavanger have to be ordered
separately.
The account for the workshop will be settled after all the expenses for the workshop have been brought to the table, and a final invoice will then be sent from the FORCE Secretariat.
The deadline for registration is August 2nd. A cancellation fee (tickets, hotels) may apply after that date

Each participant is responsible to follow the HSE instructions for field trips prevailing in his/her company. However, all general safety precautions will be made for the field trip.
