Pilot Consortium Agreement

Objectives

  1. To create a consensus among oil company decision makers as to the importance and time criticality of qualifying new water based enhanced oil recovery technologies (Polymers, surfactants, Low sal, permeability modifiers),  particularly in the context of reactivation efforts in fields with rapidly declining production and installations in need of modification and upgrading to prolong field life and production
  2. To create a consensus in the same group that cross licences cooperation in piloting and development are cost and time saving and increases the reserves basis and reduces unit cost.
  3. To create a consortium agreement for piloting to be agreed by the companies, framing an regulating rights and obligations between the  cooperating parties
  4. Sign at least one contract in 2010

Scopes

Objective 1 and 2 will be handled by NPD management by meetings with operating companies’ management with relevant decision authority. An important issue will be to seek out rights and requirements for accepting the terms to be put in the agreement.

Objective 3 creating the agreement will be handled by a group lead by the wise chairman with participating lawyers from NPD, SHELL and Statoil.
